Whaaaaaat? A year-end post in February?! Who does that? Apparently, I do! Hahaha! I know this post is extremely late but I'm still posting anyway. I kept the pictures' resolution at a minimum and limited myself in posting 100 pictures (which was really hard, btw) taken last year so as not to slow down your computers. As much as I want to tell the whole story behind each photo, I couldn't because that would obviously take me forever to finish. I hope little fragments would suffice.

JANUARY

Not being in a relationship does not mean cuddling up in bed on Valentine's day. You can always have fun even without a boy/girlfriend around. My February consisted of going to the annual UPLB Feb-fair, having dinners during Friday nights, watching musical plays and bidding good bye to a friend.

The month I turned legal and took almost a thousand photographs of Trisha. I remember stressing over my academics that's why I opted not have a debut party. I went home on the day of my Dad's birthday crying and feeling that my head was going to explode any minute after a day full of exams.

I couldn't get enough of school (who am I kidding? Haha) so I took summer classes. Getting up at 7

am on summer is really hard especially if the classes you're attending includes a single GE course and a P.E. class only. I managed to try to keep my lifestyle healthy by walking everyday around the campus for my P.E class.

At least 10 more semesters to go before I bid goodbye to college and starting off a new one, never fails to make me happy as that only means I'm step closer to reaching my dreams. June was mostly full of birthday celebrations. I finally had the chance to party with my favorite party crowd since graduating from high school during Jheanna's debut!

A lot of my friends celebrated their birthdays during the month of July but I'm not complaining. Debut parties allow us to spend quality time with people that we haven't seen for so long. I also tried Max's unlimited chicken with friends. I went home as the loser who ate only 2 1/2 servings.

Also, this was the month I rediscovered Hannah's photography because she had a talk one Monday in UP. I got really inspired in doing what I love and striving to do it well.

December went by so quickly probably because it's the last month already. The Firm organized our batch's high school reunion which turned out to be a success. I finally had the chance to spend time with some of my friends in Enchanted Kingdom after a long time.

2011 wasn't exactly the best, but it was a damn good year! I hope 2012 will be better and that the world won't end just yet for, I know, there are a lot of things in store for everyone. A really, really, really late happy new year to you! May you get what you wish for this year and more.

The Magic Lives On

I am slowly but surely catching up with my blog posts so please bare with me for posting a month late. I went to Enchanted Kingdom with my friends December 28 of last year. This is an annual thing since 2007 for my clique and last year was no exception. We were only 5 (originally 10 Huhuhu), though, including Meeren's boyfriend Patrick. It was so much fun, nonetheless, as we got to bond really well.

It was a very hot day so we ended up hiding in Patrick's shadow.

Heide and I couldn't handle the stress that is Space Shuttle so we just had ice cream and waited for the rest in the food court. /forever scared of heights

I didn't had much pictures in my camera so here are a few from Maica's. She only took less than 50 pictures because the videos took most of the memory.

Of course we went home to our second home a.k.a. Maica's house after the long and exhausting day. Here's a video from that day that Maica came up with. I hope I could still visit Enchanted Kingdom with my friends this year but we could totally visit a new place, though. I just hope that every plan we make pushes through. I miss my girls big time!

High School Never Ends

What a very cheesy title after a long blog hiatus! Hahaha! I am truly aware that this post is more than a month late because these photos were shot December 20 of last year but, as they say, it's always better late than never, right?

This event was organized by The Firm, a group composed of myself and my friends who enjoys coordinating events, and this reunion was our biggest one yet! We managed to organized everything with zero budget. Yup, you've read that right! Everything from the venue to the food was free!!! Thanks to the persuading powers of some of the members of The Firm *Hi June and Jna* and to the generosity of my batchmates, everything went well!

Let time pass by having a musical jam (it sounds so professional Haha). We sang while Ariel played some songs with his guitar. I took some videos but I haven't gotten around to editing them yet. Maybe soon.

Went out for a ride to buy water for just a few minutes yet a lot of things happened. Not a lot really, just a slightly drunk Julian confessing his love to one of my friends. It was so funny as we cannot really tell if he was serious or not!

Maica, Meeren, Kalene and I are such card game noobs so we steered away from the card gamers and just spent majority of the evening chatting, laughing and sleeping. It was so much fun, nonetheless. The next day, we went straight to my other home, a.k.a. Maica's house, for some shower then headed to the cinema to watch Won't Last A Day Without You. It was a good film and watching it was a very funny experience for me as Maica kept pinching me whenever there's a kilig or a hot Gerald Anderson scene on. I would love to watch more movies of that genre! It's such a light romantic comedy film that you won't feel any bit of sadness, just positive vibes all throughout the movie. And by the way, I didn't find any connection of the random film title to the movie at all. Haha!

Party Like It's The End of The World

Hello, 2012! This post may be a bit late, (wait scratch that, this is really late haha) but it's always better late than never, right? I've been busy back reading 2-weeks worth of blog posts of my favorite bloggers as I have finally reunited with my laptop this weekend. I've been wanting to do a recap of my 2011 but I'll save that for the next post. So for now, I'll leave you with cliche` 2012 goals of mine.

1. Eat less to...

2011 was the year of binge eating for me which, obviously, is bad. Must. Avoid. It. This. Year.

2. Save up and...

I am never good at saving money, this I am sure of. Believe me when I say I have planned on saving countless of times, but always end up with zero money as I tend to splurge on food and unnecessary stuff. I hope to save up for my camera equipment this year. Miracle, please?

3. Lose weight.

From 47, I am now a 50-kg human being because of all the holiday food. I will lose my holiday fats in no time, so I'm not worried. My aim, though, is to weigh 43-46 kg.

4. Study well and study more.

I can and I will. I just hope I won't lose inspiration in the process.

5. Upgrade my camera equipment.

This is what I've been wanting for the longest time!

6. Start my own business.

I've already conceptualized the business and I'm in the process of acquiring raw materials. Let's just cross our fingers for anti-laziness! I always get lazy when I start new things out. Heh.

7. Shoot all the time.

At one point in 2011, I lost the urge to shoot. I hope it won't happen again.

8. Travel with my family and friends.

This requires a lot of planning which I am not very good at. Hahaha! I just want to spend more quality time with the most important people in my life.

9. Organize the files in my laptop.

I don't even know where to begin organizing. So for 2012, I wish myself patience.

10. Print 2009-2011 pictures and use them to decorate my room and my planner.

This one's already 3 years late!!! I have 12 months to accomplish this.

11. Blog, write and read more.

I've read and wrote a lot over the holidays but failed on the blogging part.

12. Get a driver's license!

I cannot even count the times my mother asked me to get a license last year, to which I responded next time all the time. So dear 2012, please be my next time for me to experience the road trip I have in mind for so long.

I'll save the 2011 recap drama post for my next entry. For 2012, I hope to discover new passions and adventures that would fill my soul inspiration. I hope to find what it is that my heart is trying to find. I hope to see everything in a positive light. And I hope to shoot and inspire people with my photographs. I hope to learn and impart my learning to others. I hope to smile and laugh majority of the year until my tummy hurts and never experience the heartbreak I had last year. I hope all the new people that will come into my life will not be the same as that person; I'm aiming for long-term friends. And lastly, I hope to enjoy and party like it's the end of the world with the people that have been there for me all the time.

Geek/GirlyWishlist

There's only a few hours left before Christmas day comes and I still haven't made a wishlist. So I put up one a few minutes ago in Photoshop. I've thought about things I want and wish to have and a lot came into my mind but deep within, I'm fine with getting nothing (except maybe a new phone because my current one is slowly dying on me). I just want my family and friends to be happy and have good health. That's all, but posting my wishlist won't hurt, so here it is.

Geek Wishlist

1. One Day - I loved the movie and I think I would love the book even more but every bookstore that I went to have run out of stocks.

2. Planner - because I write even the most little of things even if it's not note-worthy. My mind just can't seem to function properly without me writing all the thoughts running.

3. External Hard drive - I have a feeling that my laptop hard drive would die on me any minute and I still haven't organized my backup files yet.

4. Phone - My current one is dying on me!!! But I'm not fretting because I'd have this and the ones on top of this list by January. Yay!

5. 1100d/500d/550/600d Camera - Need I say more? I'm a camera geek with a low-tech camera. /deep sigh. The reason why I don't ask my parents to buy me one is because I want to get it for myself with my own money. Hopefully, someone would cast a spell on me and magically let me save up for a camera by mid next year. Haha!

6. 50mm f/1.8 - Buying a camera would be prolonged a little more since I want to buy it together with this lens.

7. White Ipod Touch - It's soooooo pretty~

8. Instax Mini -I want to have a box full of polaroids! It's pretty easy to save up for this but I'm setting my priorities- that is to buy a dSLR and a lens.

Girly Wishlist

Messenger bags and Oxford shoes! I'm addicted to messenger bags right now but it's quite funny that when I look at my bag stand, all I see are purple bags. I remember last year, I only had black and brown bags and I don't know how those became purple. I'm also making it a goal to buy at least one shoe per month next year!

UPLB Oblation Run 2011

I went with my friends to witnessed the annual Oblation Run last December 15, 2011 in UPLB. In case you're wondering, I didn't see anything but naked men and their butts- no genitals, not that I'm complaining. Haha!

The Oblation Run is an annual event held by several Filipino chapters of Alpha Phi Omega (APO) in different universities in the Philippines. The event first organized in 1977 at University of the Philippines Diliman to promote Hubad na Bayani (Tagalog for Naked Hero), a play. It draws its name from the Oblation, a statue of a nude man located in every University of the Philippines campus, which symbolizes "a selfless offering of one's self to the country". The event is usually done on December 16, and serves as a protest to contemporary national issues.

Actually, I didn't know that the Oblation Run is a form of protest until I saw posters with Serve The People texts on it, held by the naked runners. It's my first time to see the Oblation Run since I had classes at 12 noon this time last year. Overall, it was a fun experience despite the rain and not being able to see what everyone intended to see in the first place. Hahaha I kidd!

Yup, I'm still alive

...but I'm barely breathing. Forgive me, I just had to add that line because apparently I love The Script! I know I have not been around lately because, as much as I wanted to update this blog, I did not know exactly what to update you with. As always, here I am posting unnecessary stuff that is my life as I have all the time in the world because it is Christmas vacation for me already!

Intrams hangover that I did not expect to happen. I miss High School and I miss this kids. One day we went back to my high school to visit these kids and drop by some shirts that they demanded from their volleyball coaches (my batchmates).

Mcdonald's breakfasts every single day because my day starts at 7 am and ends at 7 pm. My schedule sucks, I know.

My favorite strangers-- kids. Mytiela, my friend Coleen's niece, would sometimes drop by campus and put a smile on our faces. She is, honestly, the most beautiful baby I have ever seen. I cannot wait for her to grow old to see how any more beautiful she can get.

Quiz contest with batchmates. After attending my first organization orientation in college this semester, I waited for my friends' quiz contest to end then shot some pictures of them (some involved them lying on the road). It was a lot of fun because I did see that they enjoyed the contest very well even though none of the 3 teams of my friends won.

Laughter-filled lunches. 'Where to eat?' is the hardest question before 'What should I eat?' and one day, my friends just could not decide where to eat. They ended up ordering Bugong chicken and eating it in front of Chowking where it is cold due to an air conditioning unit or something.

Payment auditing. It's Christmas time and it's time for everyone's wallet to be empty again. My friends had been busy taking payment for our batch's jersey which I couldn't wait to get next week! I hope it turns out well worth our every penny.

My last Monday school day of the year was spent inside the library pretending to study Math. I did study a bit but majority of the time, I just watched Chinchin laughed at everything she says. This is another late post. Haha! I made a video of my most memorable sembreak yet a month ago and here it is. It consists of our spontaneous trip to Coleen's house, sembreak getaway to Katipunan, car rides with friends, Intramurals trainings, Palarong Rural 2011, Grown Up Stuff with Batchmates 2, Araneta-like videoke jams, and a hella lot more! This has really got to be the BEST SEMBREAK EVER! All thanks to my High School Batchmates and the kids! :) ♥

Edit: Of course I wasn't able to document the best parts as it is usually done whenever I turn my camera on. I do remember everything clearly in my head or if not, at least, I remember what I felt on those moments. Moments where I would burst in tears and feel crunches in my stomach from too much laughing. And times I feel so so lucky to be calling the best people as my friends.

Grown Up Stuff

Grown-up stuff part 2 was the last thing we did before the second semester starts. I know, I know, this is almost a month late. Sorry, I've been pretty busy pretending to be busy with school.

This is what I posted on my Tumblr account:

I ended my semestral break right by spending a night with my friends, mixing drinks and consuming them up with a crazy straw and pretending we were having a concert in Araneta by singing (well, shouting) at the top of our lungs, and capping off the night with unforgettable and epic moments from High School. Aaaaaah, I have the best-est friends! ♡

And as always, I didn't drink a lot. I think I only had 2 shots of Tanduay Ice (or something) which, we all know, is the mild-est alcoholic drink that could even pass as a kiddie drink! Hahaha I had fun snapping photos while trying to lose my voice at the same time. I really wanted to lose my voice that night so I sang/shouted, whichever you prefer, all the night while most of the people were resting and mending their hangovers. Haha!

Anyway, I cannot wait to spend my Christmas vacation with these awesome people again! Almost 2 weeks away! Yaaay!

Ended the night with the usual trip down memory lane high school stories and epic moments from that night when everyone was already sober! Then I took a 2-hr nap before heading home. Fun times with my loves! xx

Most inspiring day yet!

Today has got to be the most inspiring day (you must have figured it, by now, from the title) ever in my life! I started the day dragging myself to take a bath and attend my 8 am and only class for the day. I am usually excited at the thought of going to school but today's just not one of those days. The St. James The Great Christmas Bazaar is on its third day today and I just wanted to see it even if I spent my entire weekend there already. Anyway, I spent the rest of my day with some friends and hanged out a bit in Crissel's apartment. There's almost no dull and silent moment (except when we were having lunch) earlier because I was with my noisiest friend, Chinny.

I'm having a hard time extracting words from my brain right now. This is what happens to me whenever I feel too much emotions of everything (i.e. too happy, too sad, too inspired). But I don't plan on not documenting my entire day so here are bullets for everyone's (or mine's) happiness!

I didn't get to ask a question during the symposium since I couldn't think of any and I was too shy to speak in a crowd of more or less 600 people. But I really wanted to ask Hannah Reyes something. She has inspired me the most of all the speakers, probably because I've been a follower of her Photography prior to the symposium and also, partly because she's a teenager armed with a camera like me. And to be honest, I really want her job right now. Haha! I just don't know how to get in to that company and juggle studying Engineering with Photography. I wish I know how but first I need to figure out what my niche is in photography. It will take some time but I know I'm getting there. Just the other day I tweeted a link of my favorite peg shoot and my friend commented that it was so me! Perhaps, listing down all my peg shoots would do the trick. Soon, soon. For now, I'll just do what Hannah said which is to do what I love and try to excel at it or, in my case, them. Photography and Math keeps me sane.

On Losing

During the last set of the kids' Volleyball Eliminations, I remember not looking closely at the game since I was really nervous. My heart was beating really fastly and I just can't wait for the game to end so I could finally loosen up. The game ended and our kids lost.

I've become too attached to the Volleyball kids that even I felt like crying when they lost. I witnessed how
they beat up my batchmates during practice games and how they were asked to eat Wasabi when committing errors. They love Volleyball so much that I cannot find the proper words to describe it.

Carlo cried really hard and kept saying sorry. I just didn't know what to react when I heard him.

Even the boys that I usually see just fooling around and laughing shed a lot of tears.

But the next day, Clary surprised everyone when he cried in the middle of a practice game with my batchmates. It took him one day to absorb everything.

I know that they really have a shot at grabbing the championships that I couldn't wait for their Intramurals next year!

Palarong Rural 2011

Another 3-day highlight of my awesome semestral break. Everything that occurred last sembreak were all highlights, really, and I just couldn't be anymore grateful to all my friends and newly-found friends for everything!

Sophies, the batch that we handled, performed first and surprisingly turned out to be 1st runner ups(!!!). We were all shocked and in awe at the same time. If there's anyone who'd be most surprised about the results, it would have to be our batch. Because from the start, we were in doubt about their routine and the team's dedication. But in the end, we just swallowed all the mean things that we said since they really gave a great performance. Also, if there's anyone who could be any prouder, it would also have to be our batch since we witnessed their routine's transformation. As what I've said, the kids' performance was better than what we all expected.

Times I Feel Like A Legit Athlete

Sorry for the lack posts as I have been busy catching up with other non-online stuff (a.k.a. college life and life in general). I have so much more to tell yet I don't know how to start and fit my semestral break stories into one whole post. So, I'll cut it into parts and start it this way...

I am probably one of the most (if not the most) inactive person alive. It's not surprising to know that I am incapable of playing any sport except, maybe, Chinese Garter. But in my defense, I spent my whole High School years in our batch's Cheerleading team which makes me less inactive during trainings. I used to look forward to it every year until I graduated in High School. Gladly, every batch in our Alma Mater is somewhat obliged to train (Sports and Cheering) the incoming Freshmen so I still have something to look forward to yearly. The batch that we handled last year are Sophomores already who surprised everyone with how much they have improved in just a year. Although I don't play any sports and we didn't teach Cheering this year, I still went to their trainings religiously. Most of the days, I just sat and took pictures of my batchmates and the kids as I watch their Volleyball practice games. I get to bond with my batchmates and the kids at the same time. I really don't know how to explain it but these are one of the few times that I feel like a legit athlete (one who doesn't play any sport, at that). Hahaha!

Bombarding everyone with pictures of Trisha's third look hoping to make up for my lack of posts. I had a hard time post-processing these since I couldn't make up my mind and keep re-editing every five minutes or so. And oh, regarding post-processing, I believe that other people don't have any right to judge my use of Photoshop in editing MY pictures. Why don't you just mind your pictures and edit them at your own risk? What's so funny is that those people who judge other people's photos as misleading due to so-called over post-processing, are the very people who don't have any clue in using Photoshop. Stating the obvious, it is very likely that they are bitter for they have zero Photoshopping skills. I'm not bragging in any way because I, too, have little knowledge of that. Our only difference is that, I don't go all saying that Photographers should not edit their photos. Those are their photos in the first place anyway, why would I bother?

On a somewhat related topic yet about a different person, I don't need to know all the technical terms of Photography for me to enjoy it. All I need is a camera, be it the simplest or the fanciest digital camera around, and my passion for taking pictures. You may have everything but why does it seem that you haven't even applied a single technique that you keep on bragging to everyone?

Oh well, I'm shaking all the bad vibes away now. Tomorrow will be another great day with the kids! Can't wait! :)

a.k.a How To Get A Girl Go Head Over Heals On You... err, rather The Sure Way To Quennie's Heart. Oh man, typing "Quennie's Heart" made me cringe. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of cheesiness in any form but I easily reach my saturation point. I won't dwell on that anymore as I'm the only who would understand.

I don't know if anyone knows this but I have a really soft spot for singers and dancers. Sometimes even if a man's face is just so-so or not too handsome for my taste, as long as he can sing or dance or both, he could easily capture my heart! It's true as most of my crushes are good singers and dancers. I tend to judge people with their physical appearance to the point that all the negative in them would overcome the positives. But all that would cancel out as soon as I witness them singing and dancing well.

Look #2: Trishy Go

I've never been a fan of drastic photo editing (removing eye bags, pimples, black heads, etc.) partly because I can't do it neatly and above all, I believe that the key to a nice photograph is proper composition which takes place when the photographer clicks the shutter. What happens in the editing room is just enhancement and although, removing dark spots is enhancement as well, a part of the subject photographed was removed. Yes, I do photo manipulation when doing tarpaulin and poster layouts but I swear, I've never done anything close to those. It's just my honest opinion, I don't know with others. :)

With that being said, you should know by the now that I didn't blur, clone or burn any parts of Trisha's face and body. All I did here were to adjust the Hue/Saturation and some Selective Color. Yup, it's just that easy! It may seem a little overexposed for some of you but I'm satisfied with how the photos turned out.

First Sembreak Getaway!

These past few days have been an emotional roller coaster ride for me as I couldn't figure out how to contain my happiness anymore. God has been very nice for blessing me with such great friends.

Some of my friends have been planning this trip for about 3 or 4 months already but our schedules just won't allow us to go until two days ago. Most of my friends study in UP Los Banos (including me) while some are in UP Diliman, UP Manila, Ateneo and La Salle. We made sure that we visit some of them when we went to Katipunan and Manila.

Our day started with our little surprise for my friend Maica who celebrated her 18th birthday last October 18. I layouted a tarpaulin design for her. Most of the pictures included were bikini pictures since she's referred to as the bikini bod of our batch.

Killed some time at Sofia Bellevue in our batchmates' condo. We really had a great time here! Everyone was laughing and enjoying each other's company.

Picked up Jello in her dorm then went straight to Moonleaf to try the famous milk tea! YAY! Bea and I have been dying to try it out. Almost everyone tried their bestseller Wintermelon Milk Tea. Of course I had it without pearls because I hate them on my drinks. Haha! It was yummy and not that bad but I just wish they had it in smaller sizes. I only drank like half of it since the serving was too big for my tummy.

We dropped by Taft to pick Jan from La Salle then we headed off to Robinson's Manila to meet with UPM friends Jerome, Jim and Dudi. Jerome didn't make it, though, because of a project defense or something.

Killed time in Timezone and played some games. My arms still hurt from targeting the sharks in one of the games. Competitive much? Hahaha

It's quite sad that some of our friends couldn't join us because obviously the van couldn't fit us all. I had fun with these guys, nonetheless! This day was one of those days that you won't mind repeating all over again no matter how tiring it gets. Everyone was just having fun!

I spent the next day having lunch with Nika and visiting UPRHS with other friends after eating. It is always a trip down to memory lane moment when I'm with my High School batchmates. I miss everyone! :'(

So, I guess, semestral breaks are not just about staying up until 3 am to watch series episodes and waking up at 12 noon to have Brunch. I could get used to this kind of fun. Who says I don't have a life outside the internet, now?

Today In My Exciting Life

... I decided to fix my eating habits upon waking up. I am so glad it finally sank in to me that I've been binge eating the past months. Waking up at 11 am makes it hard for me to decide on whether I should eat Breakfast or Lunch so usually I go for the brilliant idea of eating Brunch instead. Sometimes, though, I tend to oversleep and wake up at 2 pm (Right, as if waking up at 11 am isn't oversleeping) resulting to me having Brunchienda (Breakfast + Lunch + Merienda) which is clearly binge eating at its finest.

As of the moment, I only had a single meal which means I failed on my first attempt. Haha! Well, I can always start again tomorrow.

I love this phrase that I heard on Kris TV this morning. I just couldn't agree more! I may seem composed when I'm mad but in my head, I've killed you a hundred times. Which reminds me of what I've said the last time about me not talking to someone because of a past incident. I've survived not talking to her the whole semester, so I guess I could last longer like, maybe... a lifetime? Why, yes!

On another unrelated topic, I've always wanted to start layouting a magazine but doing so without any theme could result to me leaving it half way done. Besides I don't have any reason (other than the fact that I'm bored) to layout a magazine, anyway. So, I shall continue leaving my sedentary life, instead. How exciting!

On Lacking A Photo To Accompany This Post + HBD

My only excuse for my delayed blog posts or the lack thereof, is I don't have pictures to accompany my words. I dislike having to post a blog post without any pictures so I end up not publishing it instead. This post, however, is an exception.

Have you ever felt so excited about an activity that you end up over planning days ahead? Only to find out that people won't be showing up. That have happened to me a lot of times and I'm getting used to it already. Haha! The only thing I hate is cancelling the plan on to the last minute. I rarely do that because I know how much a friend being cancelled on feels. Last week was an exception, though. I cancelled Kalene and I's plan on getting a foot spa because I accidentally hit my foot on a wire that my sister is crafting. Take note on the accidentally. I'm known to be an accident prone person at home. Well, fine, not only at home, perhaps almost everywhere. I almost always never end a day without tripping over something. Ahhh, my life and its little challenges.

This day turned out to be so much fun! Today is one of my best-est friend Catrina/Dora's birthday. She is based in New Zealand so, obviously, there's no way we could greet her personally. That's why Lali, Lara, Maica and I just a made a greeting video for her. We pre-loaded a Happy Birthday song on YouTube and just sang along it. Funny how we still looked at the lyrics even though it pretty much only contains the words Happy, Birthday, To and You which we all know we mastered since God knows when. Lali baked some chocolate cupcakes and we lit a really big pink candle for Dora then blew it for her. We ended up making a fool out of our already-fool-selves when we lip synced Are You Gonna Be My Girl and Moves Like Jagger and captured everything on video. Who knows, we might be YouTube famous soon? ... or not since we only uploaded it on Facebook and with the lack of vocal skills (apparently 'cause what we made was only a lip sync video) we might just be getting some hate mails instead. Kidding! In my defense, we had some great dance moves and were really cute in the video. Hahaha!

I cannot wait for Wednesday's plan to push through since it will be epic!

College Cramming 101

I am deeply grateful to Rural High (my High School Alma Mater) for my cramming skills. The only downside is, I use it efficiently and tend to cram everything! *cries* We were somewhat trained to accomplish heavy tasks for a very limited amount of time. I remember back in Third year, we had 17 exams, reports, and projects that needed to be accomplished in two weeks before we can have a taste of Christmas vacation. YES, 17 REQUIREMENTS IN TWO WEEKS! Caps lock so necessary!

The problem with me is, I only start with a project or study for an exam a day before or worse... hours prior to the deadline! I once started with a reaction paper 2 hours before the class began. I treated that reaction paper like a single blog post (Wrong, I know!). Take note: I remained calm all through out! That's my other problem. I rarely get pressured. My classmates in Ensc10a (Engineering Graphics I) can attest to that. Even if my plate is only halfway done with 10 minutes remaining in the clock, I still won't panic and start screaming and squealing like others. Because really, there's no point in panicking when you can do everything quietly and calmly in a shorter span of time.

My other dilemma is, I always have a hard time concentrating on any school work when I know I have unread blog posts and unwatched series episodes lying around. Sometimes I just want to stab myself because my mind won't focus! I end up reading the blog posts and watching the shows for the benefit of my problematic system instead.

Then, I proceed to taking photos of myself.

I love writing down to-do's! I love it so much that I tend to write them on different sheets of paper at the very least... three times! Sadly, yes, my time is very well spent on planning and not much on execution. Here's a secret I'm very much willing to share: use colorful post-it notes all the time. As weird as it may sound, when I have little energy left in my system to function properly, somehow, these colorful post-it's help me get through it all. Oh well.

And just because the first semester of my second year in college is over (yes, I wouldn't have done this otherwise because I hate making promises to myself), here's my fair share of new semester's resolution (there's like that? haha).

I promise to procrastinate less and be more conscious on my grades next semester.

Series Friday I

Hi guys! Sorry for not updating much the past weeks. I've been too busy thinking about how busy I was (and still am) which only led to nothing but unproductivity, really. But believe me, I really wanted to blog about my uneventful life but I couldn't come up with a thing or two to talk about here. So I figured, since I've been drowning myself with loads of TV series, why not make a weekly blog entry out of it? AAAAWE-SOME! (Summer Roberts tone) But my mind is not in a very good state right now so I'll make this quick and just do a rundown post.

1. Pretty Little Liars
It pissed me big time that the series ended halfway just when a lot of clues have been put on the table already. And adding insult to injury, the series will resume next fucking year!!! How uncool is that? UGH! So anyway, here's a screenshot from the season finale.

2. Glee
I have nothing to say except that I'm okay with Blaine and Kurt being together, Quinn needs to quit being a punk rock chick or something, and Santana is such a bitch. Haha

The scene when Stefan called Elena has got to be my all-time favorite TVD scene. It's just too heartbreaking! </3

Damon: I changed my mind because even in his darkest place, my brother still can't let me die.

4. Hart of Dixie
It's official- Hart of Dixie is my new favorite! I don't care if it got low premiere ratings, I just love watching Rachel Bilson as a doctor. She's too cute! Sometimes I think she's still Summer Roberts pretending to be someone else. Needless to say, Hart of Dixie needs Seth Cohen.

5. Awkward.
Awkward, oh awkward. I have so much to say about the first season but I believe it deserves a whole entry next time. I'm cool with Jenna ending up with Jake but I just wish it would have been with Matty. Team Matty all the way!

I'll do better next time as soon as semestral break starts, promise!

UP Rules Cheerdance!

The annual UAAP Cheerdancing Competition excites me every year. Not only because the UP Pep Squad never fails to wow the crowd but also because cheer dancing has a very special place in my heart. I came from a UP high school where Cheerdancing is not just composed of a simple pyramid where people chant irrelevant cheers. It was a big deal even though it doesn't weigh much on the overall competition, zero unit at that. Those four years I spent in Rural High were well spent partly because of the Cheerdance. I am not much of an athlete so the whole month of my sembreak was allotted for cheer dance practices. It is where I grew closer with my batchmates and truly appreciate the big word- batch unity.

Even though I didn't get to watch it in the Araneta Coliseum, I did watch it live on TV. Haha! I was literally cheering, screaming and squealing for Unibersidad ng Pilipinas in our house. I knew UP Pep Squad would do a great job and after watching, I was right. My twitter timeline was silent the whole 6 minutes that the UP Pep Squad was performing then it totally went berserk after that. The stunts were difficult yet very stable. It was perfection at its finest. I couldn't imagine them doing it any better. And as what my friend said, they beat their former selves. Back-to-back champs!

And these are when UP swept all the awards- Group stunt competition, Samsung Stunner and UAAP CDC Champions! I was so proud for my school! :)

I used to tease my sister (named Princess- yes, I'm Quennie and my parents are that logical to name us those) that she won't have any real friends because of her bitchy attitude. The past months, though, she's been saying countless of things about this Korean friend of hers and I thought to myself, maybe I was wrong about her. Haha

Reasons Why I Love The O.C.

Among all the series that I've watched it is The O.C. that I can relate myself to the most.Well, Pretty Little Liars is just too creepy for my almost uneventful life, Gossip Girl is too glamorous for my low key lifestyle, Glee is too surreal (because really, there won't be any Blaine who will sing a song to me whenever I decide to transfer to another school, yes?), The Vampire Diaries is too good to be true (when on Earth will there be a Stefan and Damon fighting over me?!), and the list goes on. What I'm trying to point out is that I've never loved a series, as much as I feel towards The O.C., before. Not to mention, I only got to watch it 4 years after its last season ended. Goodness, I may or I may not be studying Biology that time. It's never too late, friends. But for those who haven't seen it yet, here's a brief rundown from absolutedreck.com.

The Cohens are a wealthy, half-Jewish half-WASP family who live in Orange County (the “O.C.” of the title). Unlike their caricaturized neighbours, they’re essentially the picture-perfect model of a liberal household. Sandy (played by Peter Gallagher) is a public defense attorney from a poor, Brooklyn upbringing, while his wife Kirsten (Kelly Rowan) is an extremely successful new home agent in her father’s company.

The first scene of the first episode (directed with a surprising amount of grit by Bourne Identity/Swingers/Jumper director Doug Liman) finds Sandy taking on a new case – defending Ryan Atwood, an at-risk teen from the downtrodden central California city of Chino, from charges of auto theft. It turns out that Ryan, despite his tough exterior, actually has a heart of gold. When it turns out that his mother has abandoned him and he would have to live in a foster home, Sandy goes above and beyond the call of duty and brings him to live with his wife and son in their palatial mansion. It’s here that the first season really kicks off, as Ryan is introduced to new people, a new situation and has a shot at redemption.

So, what made me like The O.C.?

Conflicts. Most of the conflicts appeal to teenagers like me. There's Marissa getting addicted to drugs, alcohol and lesbians (not that I'm interested in any of these), Ryan dragging himself to every fight at the start of the season, and Seth hoping that Summer, his longtime crush, would notice him for just a second.

Events! I've watched Blair plan her annual soiree but not as hands on as the people in Orange County do. It gotten into a point that every episode has got to have an event to reconcile with the people they love. Remember Marissa-Ryan and Seth-Summer in their Junior Prom? And Kirsten and Julie even started a business out of it!

Okay, I know I'm not who you all imagined as prom king. Seeing as how I'm not who any of you actually voted for. But she's the queen, and I love her. So, I guess, that makes me king.- Seth Cohen
Fashion! Even though the first episode was taped 7 years ago, I can't help but notice their style. It's still fun to see a bit of fresh air from all the sheer maxi trends today. Plus Marissa and Summer are so pretty!!!
Family ties. You would have wondered why and how can someone admire a rich family's family ties. It's because it's really admirable! The Cohens treated Ryan as their own even though he was from a poor family and has a brother who got him into jail. Sandy and Kirsten never spoiled Seth and Ryan, given that they can always do. Whenever someone feels that they're family is not getting along well, he would initiate a bonding session (dinner or video games sessions). They're the perfect family which made me wish I was part of it as well.

ULTIMATE OTP!!! Ryan-Marissa. I don't know if anyone notices but I'm not a fan of second relationships or whatsoever, I always settle for the first ones- like Ryan and Marissa. Although there's Theresa, Lindsay, Sadie, and Taylor for Ryan and Luke, Oliver, Alex, Johnny, Volchok for Marissa, they always find their way back into each other. It's quite odd, though, that Marissa didn't even utter any 'I love you' to Ryan when she was about to die. But all's well since she did left a letter for Ryan.

Marissa: Who are you?
Ryan: Whoever you want me to be.
Bromance. I love it that Ryan and Seth care and treat each other like they're real brothers. Remember the time when Seth sailed away because Ryan left Newport for Theresa? Ryan came to Portland for him. Awww.

Friendship. Some bitches (ahem!) don't know how to value friendship but I'm not one of them. I value friendship as much as I value God, my family, photography and Math. I always daydream about being in Summer, Marrisa, Seth and Ryan's circle of friends. It would have been awesome going to Tijuana for the weekend (minus Marissa's drug addiction part, of course). Also, I love that Summer and Marissa have been best friends since grade school.

What I love most about The OC is that everything is so realistic that I can actually imagine myself in the same situation as theirs. I am a firm believer that my life would be like one of the characters'. And since, apparently, I didn't die after graduating in High School like Marissa, I would most likely end up marrying the man I unconditionally love like Summer. The thought makes me cringe and giddy at the same time. I'm patiently waiting for my own Seth, but I also won't mind ending up with a hot Ryan Atwood.

Why are you both so hot, though?

I could go on and on about the things that I love in the O.C. but this post is really long already. I will reserve my favorite scenes for another post when I find time. xx

I wonder

This is what I wrote on tumblr a couple of weeks back.

I often wonder what and who I will be in the future. Will I still be passionate about photography, travelling and math? Will I be going places to take millions of pictures as planned? Will I end up with someone I love? Will I end up with someone who loves me back? Will I, will I?

So many questions, so little answers. But at the end of the day, I know I’m one day closer to knowing the answers.

I only got to figure out today why I never posted it here. I realized that I have so much more to say so here I am rewriting, appending thoughts I never get to include.

I often wonder what and who I will be in the future. As a child, I always knew what I didn't want to be- a teacher, a nurse and a doctor, that is. Teaching doesn't really fit my teeny tiny voice and too much science brought by nursing and medicine could damage my brain. So I'm sticking with Math and trying to learn Engineering and Management for now.

I often wonder what if I never discovered photography and digital art, in the first place. What would I be passionate about today? Math? More Math? That sounds really boring to me. That's why I'm really thankful for photography and everything in between for they brought a little spark to my personality.

I often wonder if I will be able to fulfill my dream of travelling the world someday. It does really sound ambitious, I agree, but it won't hurt to have something that would keep you going, right? I really just want to finish my degree to have a decent job, be able to put up my own business, and travel the world, among others. Still clueless about my business but I'll figure it out someday. My business could support my travel needs financially then I'll be able to take millions of pictures of the different cities of the world. Dream fulfilled! But it's not as easy as it sounds, I still need to get my mind straight and study hard to finish my degree. Oh, UP, I never knew graduating from the College of Engineering would be this hard.

I often wonder who did God pair me up with. When my friends hear my ambitions in life, they notice that I don't say anything about whoever-it-is-that-God-pair-me-with (a.k.a him). I say, he would come in handy. Who knows, he could be my seatmate in the plane or my buddy in a cruise? Please, please.

So many questions, so little answers. But at the end of the day, I know I’m one day closer to knowing the answers. Well, we're all one day closer to knowing what lies ahead.

Semi-productive Long Weekend

I woke up today thinking that the 4-day long weekend ends today yet I haven't even done anything productive yet. Basically, my whole morning was spent brainstorming for awesome productive things that I could do. Unfortunately and as expected, I couldn't think of any but have a hipster photo of me taken today. I spent almost an hour trying to balance the camera on top of a chair for a self-timed photo. Here are the results. Obviously I failed to achieve the 'hipster' vibe so let's just forget that I planned on taking a hipster photo, shall we?

Also, I've memorized the first verse in Super Bass. Yup, the rap part. Do you think my rapping skills can make up for my first failure? That's something productive, right? I hope.

AB PHOTOGRAPHY

Harry Potter-themed debut FTW! Everything was made of all sorts of awesome from the invitation, to the cake, to the table setting, and all. Every guest was assigned to one of the four school houses and should wear its colour. I got sorted in Ravenclaw so I wore a blue dress.

My friend, Grace, acted weirdly the entire night. She kept saying that she wanted to party which was so not her because she is usually a KJ. Haha! All's good, though. She had the chance to dance.

As opposed to yesternight, this afternoon and evening went and is going pretty well.

I saw my phone overloading with text messages and 28 missed calls from my friends, Kalene and Bea! I learned they were worried of me because I wasn't picking up. Apparently, they formulated hypotheses in Ristretto with my other friends when they were trying to contact me. They thought I got kidnapped, lost my phone, and/or was confronted by my ex-friend, while the rest remains a mystery until I talk to each of them personally tomorrow. Truth is, I was asleep on my way home. Haha! Sorry friends. :(( Don't worry, I felt the love! xx
Catrina (Dora, as what I call her), one of my best-est friends who is based in New Zealand now, posted a video on our Facebook group page! The caption goes...

"miss you! i hope you miss me too so i made a video of me enjoying polar blast. warning:the first part contains my irresistable cuteness... :) (sorry for the low quality)so watch in HQ"

She was the cutessssttt! I wish you could all watch the video as well but I'm too lazy to figure out how to download it on Facebook. So yeah, nevermind. Just imagine this cute little thing enjoying polar blast- jumping on a snow-covered lot/park/whatever, writing I ♥ you on the snow, throwing snowballs, and laying flat like the one below on a freaking polar blast in New Zealand! How cool is that? Makes me miss her even more! :'( I miss the not-so-evil deeds behind that fun-sized body.
Also, I might start (FINALLY) with my planner this weekend. Yay!!! And and and, I can finally post the pictures from my first official shoot as half of the AB Photography Team this weekend!

Betrayal (n.)

I was having a really great day when this happened. My tears started falling after reading it. I didn't even know why. Well now, maybe I do.

Rewind two months or so ago.

Why was I hurt? Why am I hurt? Why am I hurting?

Play.

It is not new to anyone that I had a hard time dealing with College as I am too attached with High School. Sure, I've adapted really well in the campus because it has been my home since pre-school. But it was not the same case with the thousands of people walking and running pass me ten minutes before every hour. In high school, only the first month of the first year was scary. In college, on the other hand, every start of the semester is scary. But the first semester was the scariest, so far. I was afraid I won't have anyone to talk to aside from over 70 of my high school batchmates.

I was afraid to trust new people. She was an exception, though. We got along really well to the point that every time I get together with my other friends, all I could say was stories of her. They used to joke that she would only be nice for the mean time. I insisted she was different. I really thought I would really be friends with her until we graduate, after we graduate, and so on. Soon enough I proved I was wrong. Funny thing is, one of my friends actually got jealous of me having a new friend and thought I was lucky. Turned out I was unlucky after all.

Fast forward.

It struck me most that someone could do such thing to a friend. One of my friends told me that maybe I acted this way because I've valued her so much and actually considered her a friend. I was like finally, someone got my point exactly! Maybe, that's all I needed to hear. Maybe that's all myself needed to hear from someone to admit I did valued her. The one time I trusted and let someone new in my life, I was betrayed.

Betrayal (n.) is the breaking or violation of a presumptive contract, trust, or confidence that produces moral and psychological conflict within a relationship amongst individuals.

Now tell them you didn't betray anyone... or did you? Tell them what you did to your ~~friend~~ ex-friend. Tell them everything. Maybe you could find a way to redeem yourself to my true friends. You're so good at playing innocent anyway. You're so good at pretending you didn't hurt me. If anything happens after today, please know that I didn't instruct anyone to do any thing. Had you seen my friends' messages to me, you would've wanted to lock yourself in your room forever. It's not my fault they are always ready to back me up even when unasked.

Blogging is my way of cooling down. Now I'm off to drown myself with some The Script, Maroon 5 and Adele, oh Adele.

A fun-filled Saturday with my friends. Yes, story and loads of pictures (as always) under the cut.

My friend, Klariz, will be celebrating her 18th birthday in two weeks. According to her, her mother asked her if she still need a photographer to shoot her pre-debut pictures. She told her mom that she don't need any since she has talented friends. <3

She messaged me and Micah one night and asked if we're free on a Saturday. Micah has an exam the following Monday but that couldn't stop her from going. I also have an exam on Tuesday and Wednesday but who cares, my hell week (concluded by a dreaded Stat101 long exam) just ended. So I really needed this chill time photoshoot.

We will be calling our duo AB (Agramon-Barrameda) Photography from this day on.

Klariz also invided Bea and Pritzy to go but as always, Pritzy was late. Well, too late that she wasn't able to join us the whole day. Fortunately, Bea was around. She served as Klariz's stylist, closet, bag stand, joker, and the likes. Haha! Thanks Bea!

I did her make-up even though I had no idea how it's really done. My little knowledge from YouTube helped a bit, I guess.

We started shooting in Makiling Botanical Garden, UPLB.

We saw people dressed in white walking in the forest. If I were alone, I would've mistaken them as some lost soul wandering along the forest. Good thing, I'm with 3 other humans.

My every day motto: When in doubt, wear shorts.

Bea, Micah and I had Tori Teriyaki which was really gooood! Not to mention, it has a large serving that could 2 people could share. I would definitely go back to Ryuma for this.

We found this pseudo-Sakura tree inside the ladies' room. I don't why I couldn't focus the camera that time. Perhaps, I was too full to function.

Then we headed off to Nuvali to continue our business.

I spotted a kid (again). In roller blades, this time. After taking this shot, a mom came to me to ask if I could take their family photo. I said yes, of course. I didn't know 500d is that lightweight, almost similar to 450d's.

I almost forgot about the title. Bea coined it! It's supposed to be "Keep of the Grass" but Bea is Bea. She pronounced it as Kipopda Grass, making it sound like a new species of grass.

If these pictures were not an indication enough, I truly had fun! This was just what I needed after a hell week in school. I remember just taking pictures, laughing and eating the whole time. Makes me want to do everything all over again. Good times with true friends! <3
